Bajji milagai pakoda / Mirchi pakora is a deep-friedΒ snack recipe prepared using bajji chilly, gram flour and spices. It is one of the Indian spicy snacks recipes to have with hot tea. Chilly pakoda is easy evening snacks or quick tea-time snacks prepared along with tea in a few minutes. In India, there are many varieties of pakoda / pakora. Bajji chilly is also known asΒ Bajji milagaiΒ or bajji mirchi. It is a special variety of mirchi used for making bajji. It is large in size and low spicy. For this Chilly pakora, cut chilly into small pieces and mix with besan flour, rice flour and spices and fry in hot oil. There is no shape for pakoda. - 4 Bajji chilly (chopped)
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- Ginger (small piece chopped)
- 5 pods Garlic ( crushed)
- Curry leaves (few chopped)
- Coriander leaves (few chopped)
- Β½ cup Gram flour
- Β½ cup Rice flour
- Salt (as needed)
- 2 tsp Chilly powder
- ΒΌ tsp Turmeric powder
- Β½ tsp Asafoetida
- Β½ tsp Fennel seeds
- 1 tsp Oil
- Oil ( for frying)
Instructions
- Cut the bajji chilly into thin lengthwise pieces.
- In a mixing bowl, add chopped bajji chilly, onion, ginger, coriander leaves, curry leaves, crushed garlic, gram flour, rice flour, salt, asafoetida, chilly powder, turmeric powder and fennel seeds mix well.
- Add 1 tsp oil and mix well. Donβt add water. Combine all ingredients well until the flour stick to the vegetables. If necessary, sprinkle some water into it.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Take some portion of the bajji chilly mixture and sprinkle it in hot oil.
- Fry all sides of bajji chilly pakora on medium flame until it turns crispy and golden brown.
- Crispy bajji chilly pakora is ready to serve with hot tea.

Note
1.Donβt add water. The water in the vegetables is enough for kneading. If necessary, sprinkle some water into it.
2.Add more chilly powder, if want more spicy.
3.Fry pakora in medium flame.
4.Fry pakora until it turns crispy and golden brown.
5.Donβt want to make a shape for pakora. Just take some portion and sprinkle it in hot oil.
