- 1 Bread fruit (chopped)
- 1 Onion (chopped)
- 1 tsp Oil
- ΒΌ tsp Mustard seeds
- ΒΌ tsp Fenugreek
- one piece Ginger (chopped)
- few Curry leaves
- Water (As needed)
- Salt (As needed)
- few Coriander leaves (chopped)
For Grind
- 1 cup Coconut
- 4 tsp Chilly powder
- 2 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- ΒΌ tsp Asafoetida
- small piece Ginger (chopped)
- 5 Garlic
- 5 Small onion
- few Curry leaves
- Water (As needed)
Instructions
- Add 1 cup of coconut to a pan and dry roast well.
- Add chilly powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder and saute for a few minutes.
- Add chopped ginger, garlic and small onion and saute until they cooked well.
- Add a few curry leaves and asafoetida saute well.
- Allow this to cool well.
- After cooling well, add it into a mixer jar and grind it into a smooth paste by adding enough water.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds, fenugreek, ginger, onion and curry leaves and saute until onion cooked well.
- Add chopped breadfruit and saute for a few minutes.
- Add salt and water and mix well. Cover and cook until breadfruit is cooked well.
- Once cooked well, add grinded coconut paste, salt and water mix well.
- Cook this for a few minutes.
- Finally, add chopped coriander leaves and mix well.
- Breadfruit curry is ready to serve.

Note
1.Cut breadfruit into small cubes.
2.Saute for a few minutes after adding masala powders. Don’t burn it.
3.Increase or decrease the quantity of chilly powder as per your taste.
4.Don’t overcook breadfruit. If overcooked, it becomes mushy.
