For this kovakkai pachadi, first cut kovakkai into slightly thick round slices. FryΒ kovakkaiΒ until it turns golden brown. Then make a coconut paste and saute it until the raw smell goes well. - 15 Kovakkai
- 1 tbsp Oil
- Salt (as needed)
For grind
- Β½ cup Coconut
- 5 Small onion
- 3 Green chilly
- Β½ tsp Mustard seeds
- Β½ tsp Jeera
- Water (as needed)
For tempering
- 1 tsp Oil
- ΒΌ tsp Mustard seeds
- 1 Red chilly
- Curry leaves (few)
Instructions
- Cut kovakkai into slightly thick round slices.
- In a mixer, add coconut, green chilly, small onion, Β½ tsp mustard seeds, Β½ tsp jeera and water and grind it into a smooth paste.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan.
- Add kovakkai and salt and fry it on low flame until it turns golden brown and keep it aside.
- Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, red chilly and curry leaves and saute well.
- Add grinded coconut paste and saute for a few minutes on low flame until the raw smell goes well.
- Add curd and salt mix well and switch off the flame. Donβt allow it to boil.
- Finally, add fried kovakkai and mix well.
- Tasty kovakkai pachadi / dondakaya pachadi is ready to serve with rice.

Note
