What is Eggless Ragi Chocolate Cake
Ragi chocolate cake is prepared using ragi flour and whole wheat flour. Ragi / Finger millet is a popular millet in south India and it is rich in fiber. It is good for weight loss, diabetes etc. Using ragi, we can make many easy and tasty recipes. - 1 cup Ragi flour
- 1 cup Wheat flour
- 2 tbsp Cocoa powder
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- Β½ tsp Baking soda
- ΒΌ cup Vegetable oil
- ΒΌ tsp Salt
- 1 cup Jaggery / Country sugar
- Β½ cup Curd
- Milk (As needed)
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
- Chopped nuts (few)
Instructions
- Take a pan, add ragi flour and dry roast well until nice aroma comes andallow to cool
- Grease oil in a baking pan and keep aside
- Take a mixing bowl, add curd and jaggery and mix well until jaggery dissolves
- Add vegetable oil and mix well
- Take a Siever, add roasted ragi flour, wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sieve well without lumps
- Mix flour and jaggery mixture well
- Add vanilla essence mix well
- Add milk little by little and mix well until it comes to a creamy consistency
- Add this cake mixture to the greased baking pan
- Add chopped nuts to the top of the cake
- Tap the pan twice to remove air bubbles in the batter
- Preheat oven at 180 Β°C for 10 minutes and bake the cake mixture at 180 Β°C for 30 - 40 minutes
- Take it out and insert a toothpick to check whether the cake is cooked or not. If the toothpick comes out clean, the cakeis cooked. Otherwise, bake it for few more minutes
- Allow the cake to cool completely
- Cut it into pieces and enjoy
