What is Coconut Milk | Thengai Paal
Coconut milk is milk prepared from coconut. It can be used in many recipes. I always make fresh coconut milk for my recipes. It gives a nice taste and flavor to that recipes. I always use coconut milk for payasam recipes likeĀ chana dhal payasam, jackfruit seed payasam, Pasi paruppu payasam. Not only inĀ payasam, but it also can be used inĀ curry recipes.
I make first milk and second milk. The first milk is very thick. It cannot be boiled for a long time. If boiled for a long time it can be curdled. So it can be used at last for any recipes. For first milk
- 1 cup water
For second milk
- 2 cup water
Instructions
- In a mixer, add 1 cup of coconut and 1 cup of water grind well.
- Filter the coconut milk. This is the first coconut milk.
- Add the filtered coconut and 1 cup of water in a mixer and grind well.
- Filter the coconut milk and keep it aside.
- Again add the filtered coconut and 1 cup of water in a mixer and grind well.
- Filter the coconut milk and add it to the second coconut milk.
- First and second coconut milk is ready to prepare recipes.
