Ingredients
  

  • 15 Palayankodan banana (chopped)
  • Β½ cup Sugar
  • 10 Cloves
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 4 – 5 cup Water

Instructions

  • Take 15 palayankodan bananas, peel off the skin and cut it into pieces.
  • In a pressure cooker, add chopped bananas, cloves and water.
  • Cook for 2 whistles.
  • Take a pan and filter all juices in the banana.
  • Add Β½ cup sugar and mix well.
  • Boil this liquid for few minutes. It turns a reddish color.
  • Add 2 tbsp lemon juice and mix well.
  • Boil for few minutes. Once it turns a little thick, switch off the flame. The liquid should not be thick, it's watery and slightly coated on the spoon.
  • Transfer it into a bowl and allow it to cool.
  • After cooling, it comes into a jam consistency.
  • Tasty banana jam is ready to serve.

Note

1.Overripe palayankodan bananas are suitable for this recipe.
2.Once the jam comes to a little thick and is slightly coated on the spoon, switch off the flame. Don’t allow to boil until thickened. If it turns to thicken, after cooling it becomes hard.
