- 2 Ethapazham / ripe banana
- 1 cup Maida
- Salt (A pinch)
- Baking soda (A pinch)
- ΒΌ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tbsp Sugar
- Water (as needed)
- Oil (For frying)
Instructions
- Peel off the banana skin and cut it into lengthwise slices.
- In a mixing bowl, add maida, salt, sugar, baking soda, turmeric powder and water mix well. The batter should be thick.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Take one piece of banana and dip it in the batter and fry it in the oil.
- Fry both sides well and take it out.
- Valakka appam is ready to serve with tea.
