Ingredients
  

For making dough

  • cup Maida
  • ½ tsp Baking soda
  • 2 tbsp Curd
  • ¼ cup Ghee
  • Water (as needed)
  • Salt (a pinch)

For sugar syrup

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • ½ cup Water
  • a pinch Yellow color (optional)
  • ¼ tsp Cardamom

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, add 1 ½ cup maida, ½ tsp baking soda, a pinch of salt, 2 tbsp curd and ¼ cup ghee mix well.
  • Add water little by little and make a soft and thick dough. Don’t knead the dough too much.
  • Take a small amount of dough and make a small ball.
  • Press in the center using your thumb to form a dent at the center of the ball.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add badusha to it.
  • Fry both sides on low flame until it turns golden brown color.
  • Take it out from oil and keep it aside.
  • In another pan, add 1 cup sugar and ½ cup water mix well.
  • Add yellow food color ( optional) and cardamom powder mix well.
  • Boil the sugar syrup until it comes to one string consistency.
  • Add fried badusha in sugar syrup and coat the sugar syrup on both sides.
  • Soak badusha in sugar syrup for 5 minutes.
  • Delicious badusha or balushahi sweet is ready to serve.
