Green Papaya Salad is a tasty and delicious salad recipe prepared using raw papaya.Green Papaya Salad is also known as Som Tum Thai, Som Tum or Som Tam. It is apopular Thai dish. It is also known asThai Papaya Salad.

For dressing: 3 tbsp Lemon juice 2 tbsp Fish sauce (or soy sauce) 2 tbsp Palm sugar (or brown sugar) 1 clove Garlic (minced ) 1 small Chili pepper (finely chopped) For salad: 1 small Green papaya 1 Carrot 1 Red bell pepper 1 Cucumber ¼ cup Fresh coriander leaves (chopped ) ¼ cup Fresh mint leaves (chopped ) ¼ cup Roasted peanuts (crushed) Salt (as needed)
Preparing dressing: In a small bowl, add lemon juice, fish sauce and palm sugar.
Stir the mixture until the sugar dissolved well.
Add the minced garlic ad mix well.
Add the finely chopped chili pepper ad mix well. Adjust the quantity of chili pepper according to your spiciness.
Green Papaya Salad dressing is ready. Keep it aside. If want, store this dressing in an airtight container for a few days in the refrigerator.
Making green papaya salad: Peel off the skin of green papaya and carrot. Shred them into thin matchstick-like pieces using a grater or a sharp knife.
Slice the red bell pepper and cucumber into thin strips.
In a mixing bowl, add shredded green papaya and carrot and sliced red bell pepper and cucumber.
Add the dressing and mix everything together until combined well.
Add chopped coriander leaves and mint leaves to salad and mix well.
Add the crushed roasted peanuts and mix well.
Add salt if needed and mix well.
Rest the green papaya salad for 10-15 minutes. It allows the flavors to combine together.
Green Papaya Salad is ready to serve.
