In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of gram flour, ¼ cup of rice flour, ½ tsp jeera, crushed pepper, Asafoetida, chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt, hot oil/ butter and mix well.
Add water little by little and make a smooth dough.
Method 1
Fill the dough in a sev mould.
Heat oil in a pan and press the dough in the hot oil.
Fry Karasev in medium flame until it turns crispy.
Once it cools down, break it into pieces and store it in an airtight container.
Method 2
Take the dough and press it in hot oil using a skimmer/ holed spoon. This is the original method of making Karasev.
