Ingredients
  

  • 15 Kovakkai
  • 2 Tomato
  • 3 Green chilly
  • 1 cup Small onion
  • Salt (as needed)
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • Curry leaves (few)

For grind

  • 1 cup Coconut
  • ½ tsp Jeera
  • 1 tsp chilly powder
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder

Instructions

  • Cut Kovakkai into lengthwise pieces.
  • Ina mixer, add coconut, ½ tsp Jeera, 1 tsp Chilly powder, ¼ tsp Turmeric powder,1 tsp Coriander powder and the required amount of water grind it coarsely.
  • Heat oil ina pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves saute well.
  • Add choppedsmall onion and lightly saute it.
  • Add choppedgreen chilly saute lightly.
  • Add choppedtomato saute lightly.
  • Addchopped kovakkai pieces and saute it lightly.
  • Add grinded coconut and the required amount of salt.
  • Add water asneeded for cooking veggies.
  • Cover and cook for few minutes until it comes to thick gravy consistency.
  • Kovakkai avial is ready to serve with rice.
