Cut Kovakkai into lengthwise pieces.
Ina mixer, add coconut, ½ tsp Jeera, 1 tsp Chilly powder, ¼ tsp Turmeric powder,1 tsp Coriander powder and the required amount of water grind it coarsely.
Heat oil ina pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves saute well.
Add choppedsmall onion and lightly saute it.
Add choppedgreen chilly saute lightly.
Add choppedtomato saute lightly.
Addchopped kovakkai pieces and saute it lightly.
Add grinded coconut and the required amount of salt.
Add water asneeded for cooking veggies.
Cover and cook for few minutes until it comes to thick gravy consistency.
Kovakkai avial is ready to serve with rice.
