Papad bajji | Appalam bajji is an easy Indian tea-time snacks recipe prepared using papad and gram flour/besan. It is one of the best evening snacks recipe to have with hot tea.

6 Pappad 1 cup Gram flour ¼ cup Rice flour Baking soda (a pinch) Salt (as needed) 2 tsp Chilly powder ¼ tsp Turmeric powder ½ tsp Asafoetida Red color (optional) Oil (for frying)
In a bowl, add besan flour, rice flour, salt, asafoetida, chilly powder, red color and baking soda mix well.
Add enough water mix well without lumps and make a thick batter.
Heat oil in a pan.
Take a pappad and dip it in the gram flour batter. Coat the batter well on all sides of the pappad.
Drop it into the hot oil.
Deep fry both sides until it cooks well.
Pappad bajji is ready to serve with hot tea.
