Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium size Raw papaya
  • Water (as needed)
  • 1 tsp Oil
  • ¼ tsp Mustard seeds
  • ¼ tsp Jeera
  • Curry leaves (few)
  • 1 Red chilly
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
  • ½ tsp Red chilly powder
  • ¼ tsp Jeera powder
  • Salt (as needed)
  • ½ cup Coconut

Instructions

  • Peel off the skin, remove the seeds and cut raw papaya into pieces.
  • Finely grate papaya using a grater.
  • In a pan, add grated papaya and water and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Drain out all water and keep cooked papaya aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add mustard seeds, jeera, curry leaves and red chilly saute well.
  • Add cooked papaya and saute for a few minutes.
  • Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, jeera powder and salt and saute for a few minutes.
  • Finally, add ½ cup shredded coconut and mix well.
  • Tasty papaya poriyal is ready to serve.
