Spring onion flower stir fry/ vengaya poo poriyal is a healthy stirfry recipe using onion flowers. An onion flower stalk can be used for this recipe. It is green in color and the Onion flower stalk is also known as Peyajkoli, Vengaya poo and Ulli poo.

1½ cup Spring onion flower (chopped) 2 tsp Oil ¼ tsp Mustard seeds ¼ tsp Jeera Curry leaves (few) ½ tsp Red chilly powder ¼ tsp Turmeric powder ¼ tsp Jeera powder Salt (as needed) ½ cup Coconut
Heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds, jeera and curry leaves and saute well.
Add chopped spring onions and saute for a few minutes.
Cover and cook on a low flame until spring onions cooked well.
Add red chilly powder, Turmeric powder, jeera powder and salt mix well and saute for a few minutes.
In a mixer, add coconut and grind it coarsely.
Add this coarsely grinded coconut to sauteed spring onion and stir well.
Tasty spring onion stir fry / vengaya poo poriyal is ready to serve.
