Valakka appam / Pazham Pori / Ethakka appam/ banana fritters is an easy and tasty snack that can be prepared using a ripened banana. It is a famous evening tea-time snack in south India.

2 Ethapazham / ripe banana 1 cup Maida Salt (A pinch) Baking soda (A pinch) ΒΌ tsp Turmeric powder 1 tbsp Sugar Water (as needed) Oil (For frying)
Peel off the banana skin and cut it into lengthwise slices.
In a mixing bowl, add maida, salt, sugar, baking soda, turmeric powder and water mix well. The batter should be thick.
Heat oil in a pan.
Take one piece of banana and dip it in the batter and fry it in the oil.
Fry both sides well and take it out.
Valakka appam is ready to serve with tea.
